The Brief

NHS Lincolnshire is focused on providing personalized care to individuals living with cancer, ensuring that they are supported at every stage of their journey. They strive to deliver the right care, at the right time, in the right way. When they approached us, they sought an engaging, medical education animation that could effectively communicate key post-cancer care information to patients transitioning out of treatment and to healthcare professionals supporting them. The objective was to create an animation that would enhance knowledge, build confidence, and empower patients and caregivers alike as part of the NHS England Personalised Care Agenda in Cancer. The target audience for this medical education animation was not only patients exiting the cancer care ward but also their carers, making it crucial that the message was clear, accessible, and sensitive to the emotions involved in such a transition.

Our Response

Our team embraced this challenge with enthusiasm, designing a creative solution that would both educate and emotionally resonate with the audience. We chose a simple yet friendly animation style that perfectly complemented NHS Lincolnshire’s existing branding. The animation was carefully crafted to feel approachable and supportive while also delivering critical information about post-cancer care. The colour schemes were chosen with great care, using bright tones that conveyed hope and positivity while being mindful of the complex emotions associated with cancer recovery. These visuals helped to strike the right balance between warmth and professionalism, ensuring that viewers would feel both informed and reassured.

Accessibility was a core focus throughout the project. Recognizing the diverse population within Lincolnshire, we produced a Polish version of the medical education animation to ensure that non-English speakers could also benefit from the resource. This was a key aspect of our inclusive approach, ensuring that the content reached as many people as possible, regardless of language barriers. Additionally, we developed a supporting infographic that visually simplified Lincolnshire’s End of Treatment Model, making it easier for patients and carers to understand the next steps in their care journey. This allowed us to break down complex information into a clear, digestible format, further enhancing the educational impact of the project.

The outcome was a medical education animation that successfully increased awareness and understanding of post-cancer treatment support, particularly among varied demographics. By combining engaging visuals with a compassionate tone, we were able to deliver a final product that aligned perfectly with NHS Lincolnshire’s vision. This project not only met its objective but also exceeded expectations by reaching a broader audience and making the complex post-cancer care process easier to navigate.

What our client Said

“Producing our first ever animated video was a scary proposition and uncharted territory for us as an agency. Working with The Animation Guys they put us at ease, listened to our ideas and made the process come to life. They’re genuinely decent, honest and hard-working people that ultimately produce first-class animation videos. We couldn’t be happier with our final product and no doubt will return to them for a follow up video at some point! Fully recommend.”
