A series of legal animations for Summize whose software makes contract review, creation and management easy for legal teams, wherever they work.
The Brief
Summize came to us with a variety of audiences and messaging for each, needing a selection of legal animations to capture each of the core messages they needed to communicate. We utilised a lot of assets they already had within their branding to create a cohesive series of animations that would help to explain their offering and communicate their values to their different audiences.
Our Response
Style Development
With most projects, we are starting from scratch. Right from the ground up. However, with Summize things were slightly different. They had a range of characters that were already created and being used on their website. The challenge here for us was to produce a style that would help to seamless integrate these characters into animation. That way, the videos would seamlessly fit onto their website within their exisiting branding. On the right you can see some early sketches and style frames. Summize really loved the style we established with them and there were very few tweaks compared to the final videos that you can see on their site.
Animation
Characters within animation can do so many things to add to the overall engagement when they are moving. They help bring it to life and give the audience something to connect with whilst they watch the video. As the assets were not originally created to be animated but were just produced as flat website illustrations, there was some work we needed to do on our side to optimize them for animation. This was also reflected in the assets we created fresh for the project and how those animated as we wanted to ensure there was a nice flow between scenes so that the audience was not jarred with harsh cuts. This would all seek to blend all of Summize’s content into one united brand.
Edits
Summize knew that they wanted to get as much ROI from their videos as possible. This meant getting as many pieces of content from the core animations as possible for the final deliverables. After producing an initial Hero explainer video, there were multiple deep dives videos that utilised and repurposed already created content. This was not only more cost effective, but also worked to keep the audience engaged with cohesive assets that would spread across all the videos as to not spring different styles on them all the time. There were also a number of short targeted social edits produced from the videos. These were a variety of lengths, which enabled Summize to target content to certain audiences using optimised content.
The Result
The final series of animations for Summize work well to encapsulate their core business sectors, educating each different audience in their own unique way whilst also being part of a cohesive branding portfolio.

What our client Said
“Producing our first ever animated video was a scary proposition and uncharted territory for us as an agency. Working with The Animation Guys they put us at ease, listened to our ideas and made the process come to life. They’re genuinely decent, honest and hard-working people that ultimately produce first-class animation videos. We couldn’t be happier with our final product and no doubt will return to them for a follow up video at some point! Fully recommend.”
