The Brief


Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, the renowned culinary brand led by the celebrated chef, sought to launch a dynamic FOOH (Fake Out of Home) animation for their social media channels to promote five new restaurants opening at Bishopsgate 22. They envisioned an audacious scene for their fake out of home advertisement: four helicopters lowering an enormous chef’s shirt onto the building itself—a symbol of the brand’s bold arrival in London’s skyline. Our task was to bring this fake out of home advertisement to life with breath taking realism and visual impact, creating a digital spectacle that captured attention and sparked excitement.

Our Response


To achieve this ambitious fake out of home advertisement, we partnered closely with Gordon Ramsay Restaurants at every step. Starting with detailed storyboarding, we mapped out the visual journey from ground to sky, crafting each moment to enhance the drama and scale of the scene. On location, we captured real footage to blend with our CGI work, ensuring a seamless integration of live action and animation. We pushed the boundaries of digital realism, using advanced fabric simulations and lighting techniques to make the chef’s whites appear as if it was actually unfurling in mid-air. The hyper-realistic rendering of the scene was so convincing that many viewers believed it was real.

The fake out of home advertisement was a resounding success, amassing almost 5 million views on Instagram and 3 million on TikTok. The powerful imagery not only amplified the brand’s visibility but also drove bookings for the new restaurants, sparking a surge in demand that showcased the compelling power of visually innovative storytelling.
